Blood Glucose Test Meters

When it comes to lancing your skin, always be sure that you use a new sterile needle. Using an old one will not only make the process more painful due to already dulling the point of the needle but you could risk infection.

Blood test strips are not reusable and are single use. Once used should be disposed of in a sanitary fashion. We do stock a range of meters from Bayer which allow for a second droplet to be applied within 1 minute of the first, but not a second use.

We are regularly restocking test strips so our strips have the longest possible life left on them for all customers. Generally you can expect that the strips you receive will have at least 1 year of recommended life, and often this may be up to 18 months

Test strips are only compatible with the meter/s they are designed for, for example the Contour Plus meter uses Contour Plus test strips only. They are often different sizes and shapes and will not work if used on a different meter. Some test strips can be used on 2 or 3 similar meters. All of our product descriptions list the meters the test strips are compatible with.

All of our meters are supplied as part of a starter pack. Although the exact details can be found on each product page, in general they will come with a carry case, finger lancing device and a small number of test strips and lancets to get you started on your first couple of readings. 

Not all of our meters are compatible out of the box to integrate readings onto a smartphone. We recommend you use the reference guide to steer you to our meters which come with Bluteooth Smartphone capability.
