Betes the Axolotl came about from a mascot competition we held, and was designed by a fellow T1D, Amber. Her design was co cute, we couldn't resist turning it into the softest plushie that makes everyone smile!
Betes has an infusion set, pump and a CGM and a little pump belt. We hope it will help fellow T1Ds to not be afraid to show off their robot parts, and be proud of the technology that makes life a bit easier with Diabetes.
When our T1D was first diagnosed, the first thing we had to do as parents was to grab a favourite cuddly toy from home on our way to hospital to help give comfort during those first scary few days and weeks.
We really hope that Betes will give similar comfort to anyone who needs a boost and feel like they are not alone in their struggle.
